Scholarships and means-based support

The scheme is open and aimed at situations where cost is the only obstacle. It is awarded on file by a committee, with a written reason in every case, and the number of scholarships opened each year is published.

What the scholarship covers

A scholarship applies to tuition fees and takes the form of a reduction in the annual amount, applied directly to the instalment schedule. It covers exactly the same services as fees paid in full: supervision, the tutor, assessments, the project and the award. Starting from 4 400 000 GNF, a reduction changes the decision of a whole family.

  • A reduction in the annual amount, applied to the instalment schedule
  • The same services covered as with fees paid in full
  • Continuity across the whole programme, subject to progression
  • A review of your situation at each intake, on simple request

How it is awarded

  1. 01

    Request it with the application

The request is attached to the admission file. It is examined separately, so that admission is decided on the project alone.

  2. 02

    Describe the situation

A short form and the corresponding supporting documents are enough. The committee works on documents, never on an impression.

  3. 03

    Committee review

A committee of named people examines the requests together, against an announced budget and published criteria.

  4. 04

    Written, reasoned decision

The reason is written down in every case. An unfavourable decision states what could open the request at the next intake.

What the committee examines

  • Household resources and the number of people depending on them
  • The distance between the annual amount and real ability to pay
  • The fit between the programme sought and the professional project set out
  • The commitment to progress: a scholarship accompanies a programme actually followed
  • Other support already obtained, so the top-up can be adjusted usefully

Questions about scholarships

Does asking for a scholarship affect admission?

The two decisions are taken separately, by different people and in this order: admission first, on the project; support afterwards, on the situation. It is the only arrangement that keeps a support request free of any effect on entry.

Is the scholarship secured for the whole programme?

It is renewed year on year as long as progression continues, and is reviewed at each intake on simple request — upwards or downwards as your situation changes.

Can an employer fund the programme?

Yes, and the institute issues the necessary documents: a named quotation, a certificate of enrolment, the hours and the detailed curriculum. Employer funding can be combined with instalments for the remaining balance.
