Joining a programme along the way

Credits earned elsewhere, years spent practising the occupation, an interrupted programme: each of these opens a direct entry at a given level. The review is done on documents and the decision is written.

What can be recognised

The principle is simple: what has already been learnt and evidenced need not be paid for or done again. Three sources open entry at an advanced level, and they combine. Each is assessed in the same vocabulary as the rest of the catalogue — credits, supervised hours, competency blocks — which makes comparison possible and the decision explainable.

  • Credits earned at another institution, on transcript and unit descriptions
  • Professional experience of the target occupation, described post by post
  • A programme interrupted here, whose credits stay earned with no time limit
  • Professional certificates already obtained, with their competency framework

The four stages of the review

  1. 01

    Build the recognition file

Transcripts, unit descriptions, employment certificates and professional work. A document beats a statement.

  2. 02

    Compare block by block

Each block of the target programme is set against what you bring, with its published hours and expectations.

  3. 03

Interview with a teacher from the field

It covers real practice: what you have carried out, under what conditions, with what result.

  4. 04

    Written decision and entry point

The committee states the blocks recognised, the entry level proposed and any levelling-up modules that would help.

What direct entry saves

A recognised year is 60 credits, 600 supervised hours and one year of fees that do not have to be repeated. Recognition therefore bears as much on time as on money, which is why it is examined as rigorously as an assessment.

Questions about transfers

How many years can be recognised?

As many as the compared blocks justify, within the limit of what the target programme requires to have been taken inside it in order to award its title. The written decision states that threshold and the share recognised, so the arithmetic stays checkable.

Is experience alone enough?

At the highest levels of the catalogue, experience is exactly what opens entry: those awards describe responsibilities actually exercised. It is assessed on professional work and an interview with a teacher from the field, across all 18 long-form programmes as well as the professional qualifications.

When should a transfer request be made?

At the same time as the application, by attaching the recognition documents to the file. It is examined alongside admission, so the decision covers both entry and the level proposed.
