Credits, hours and validation: the rule in plain terms
One credit is worth twenty-five hours of work, 10 of them supervised. A validated year is worth 60. Everything else in the catalogue follows from those two sentences, and this page shows the arithmetic.
The official catalogue rule
It fits on one line and applies without exception: one credit represents twenty-five hours of work, 10 of them supervised and 15 personal. It is the first thing an equivalence service recomputes, which is why it is published ahead of everything else. The 18 long-form programmes therefore total 2 280 credits and 22 800 supervised hours.

What a credit contains
Supervision takes two fifths of the volume; the rest is the work you carry out alone, and it counts just the same. Many catalogues display only the first share: it looks better, and it leaves the applicant to discover the second along the way.

The arithmetic, unit by unit
The table applies the rule at four scales: the credit, the year, a three-year programme, and all the long-form programmes in the catalogue. None of these figures is typed in: they are recomputed every time the site is built, from 18 programmes and 133 modules.

How a credit is earned

The module opens with its scale
Hours, attached credits, expectations and assessment criteria are published before the first session.

Deliverables are submitted and revised
Every submission comes back with comments. Work is reworked until it meets the standard the module expects.

The synthesis assessment closes the module
It is taken under identity check when it counts toward the award, and a resit sitting stays open.

Credits are recorded
Once validated, they join your competency record with their hours and their date. They stay earned there.
Questions about credits
Do earned credits stay valid if I pause for a year?
Yes. A validated credit is earned for good: it appears in your competency record with its date and hours. On resuming, you start from the next module, without redoing what is already validated.
Can a credit earned elsewhere be carried over?
It is examined on the documents, from the transcript and the content of validated units. The admissions committee issues a written decision stating which blocks are recognised and the entry point proposed in the programme.
Why publish personal work as well?
Because it is the share that decides feasibility. A programme stating 600 supervised hours a year actually asks for 1 500 in total. You deserve to know the second figure before committing, not in the third month.
